Did the Onion Knight come back with you?

Filed under Stannis Baratheon Shireen Baratheon Davos Seaworth NO BUT LOOK AT HIS FACE WHEN TALKS ABOUT DAVOS This is a big deal because he feels for Davos and you can see his guilt and his pain at davos being in jail and it's not only that he feels guilty it's that he feels Davos did something to deserve being in a dungeon and that's what kills him the most that the punishment is fair but he doesn't want it to because it's Davos and then he remembers how brave Davos was how he fought bravely how he his son (sons in the book) died in the battle and how much Davos actually sacrified for him and he says Davos fought bravely which is one of the biggest cumpliments you can from Stannis because he's a warrior at heart and Davos is not even a warrior he's a sailor who used to be a smuggle but he fought bravely and he smiles at his daughter because he knows that she likes Davos Stannis knows this because he likes Davos too When Shireen says Davos is my friend Stannis is thinking the same thing Davos is his friend too but duty made him put his friend in dungeon and it's fucking killing him I need a moment

One of the things that people are completely forgetting is how Stannis talks about Davos in the scene with Shireen. Because before she says she wants to see him and Stannis goes and says “he’s a traitor”, Stannis actually smiles and tells her that “he fought bravely”. And then he goes and looks for the longest time at the little boat Davos made Shireen (did I mention that this is just the cutest thing on the face of the Earth? He made her a toy and she kept the toy).

So if this isn’t proof enough for show viewers that Stannis cares deeply for Davos and still respects him and is killing him to have him in a dungeon I don’t know what it is.

NO BUT I WANT GIFS OF HOW DAVOS LOOKS AT SHIREEN WHILE SHE’S TELLING AEGON’S STORY.

He’s not looking at the letters or at the book he’s looking at her and he’s smiling and he really likes her and it’s so..

These two will never cease to hurt me

I really, really love Davos’s quote in his Storm of Swords chapter. When he’s on that rock and they ask him, when they find  him, who he is. And his answer goes in line with everything he thought before because Davos decides he wants - he needs - to live because of Stannis, because of his King, because of his family and because of his Gods. But it’s Stannis who’s there first and foremost and it’s him he thinks about when they ask him:

You,” the fifth man called out when they were only a few feet from his island, “you up on the rock. Who are you?”

A smuggler who rose above himself, thought Davos, a fool who loved his king too much, and forgot his gods.

Filed under Davos Seaworth Stannis Baratheon ASOIAF Game of thrones honestly one of my favourite quotes I love this so so much because a fool who loved his king too much is just the perfect perfect Davos really cares for Stannis he loves Stannis and he's probably the only person in the world apart hopefully from Shireen who loves him for what he is and not for what he could be and this is just so important for them Davos decides he wants to live because he still has a King literally because of Stannis someone decides to live because of Stannis this is fucking important and this explains so much about Davos and about them and their whole relationship is so so beautiful I love everything and everything hurts
