My thoughts on Petyr Baelish
The best thing about Littlefinger is that we don’t really know his motives. We know about Varys’s motives by now and by now we practically know about the intentions of all the characters except Littlefinger - and arguably Melisandre.
And I honestly have some trouble in buying the good old: “Oh he just wants power”. I doubt it. Some of the major plot twists were provoked by Littlefinger, he set many wheels in motion even if unwillingly. It sounds a bit…stupid and incipient if he did all that only out of money and a wish for power because let’s face it, there’s no grounds for him to end up on the throne so he has to have some ulterior motive rather than just “Ohh money and ohhh power!”
